Paris ma nuit

  Graze - 04/07/2014
  • Graze
  • DJs/Producteurs
  •     MFB Tanzbar drum machine. Because the two analogue kicks can absolutely destroy a sound system
  • What was your last party in Paris?
This will be the first time Graze has performed live in Paris, but the last time I was there I was DJing at The Rex Club.
  • What is your favourite venues for clubbing or events in Paris
I have only really been to the Rex, apart from a Sundae party I DJ'ed at a couple of years ago - which was a sunday afternoon party on the Seine. It was really nice.
  • The last artist/performance that disappointed you?
I try not to get too disappointed with artists. If I like what they're doing cool, if not I find someone doing something I do like.
  • Last record you've been listening to?
Beck "Morning Phase" has been our wake up CD for a couple of months now. The A$SAP Ferg record is also a good record for driving and flying and hanging out. I also like the new Roll The Dice LP alot.
  • Your favourite new producers?
Arca is pretty awesome. His stuff with FKA Twigs is dope, and his solo stuff is even doper.
  • The city where you love to play?
Tokyo. Love the city, love the people, love the food. And they love music.
  • How is Toronto's club culture different from Paris'?
The laws in North America in general are very conservative, and it's hard for clubs to stay open all night, so it creates a different sort of atmosphere for partying. People go crazy until 3am, and then they go home. It's much nicer in Europe where things are more established and can go all night, and things can build up slowly and organically.
  • What is your favourite piece of gear for producing or performing live and why?
MFB Tanzbar drum machine. Because the two analogue kicks can absolutely destroy a sound system.
  • Your eponymous E.P. has been critically acclaimed, both by fans and reviewers. What's up next for Graze?
We have a new series of 3x 12"s that will be released once a month, starting September 1st. It will culminate in a brand new LP release in early December 2014.
  • Any new tracks in the live set you will give at Rex Club next week?
Pretty much half of the set is brand new, unreleased material.
  • A last word?
Shout out to Ray Ray and Big Steve.
