How was your Mercurio EP release party at Stattbad last weekend ?
It was great ! I love having my own parties in Berlin. Good vibes. I love testing out new tracks in Berlin, it makes me think of them in a new way.

Your career and label have skyrocketed throughout the duration of 2013. How do you feel 2014 is going to be for you? Any big news leading into the first of the year ?
I'm working on lots of exciting stuff, none of which I can really talk about. For now I am concentrating on my label Ultramajic, and sculpting it into my idea of what a label should be. I have felt really focused this past year and aligned, so it doesn't surprise me all of the effort has paid off.

What was your best and/or favorite club show that you played this year and why ?
Beijing China was a highlight this year, completely new experience and culture. Also, playing my hometown Detroit this year was a real treat. So many good ones lately.

What was your best and/or favorite festival show that you played this year and why ?
The shows really turn into blurs, especially when they are all really good. I loved playing with Ben UFO during the daytime at this festival in Barcelona. These kind of moments where I feel I can be patient with the crowd and develop a set, rather than just dropping bombs. Barcelona in general is a bit like Berlin, in the way that the audience gives you a chance to take them somewhere.

What is your favorite club/venue in Paris ?
Social Club is my favorite club by far. I love the mirrors and the lights. It has this really ethereal feel in the club, like you are suppose to be somewhere that you're not.

What is your favorite bar/restaurant in Paris ?
I haven't spent much time in Paris enough to have one. I did love this Silencio place because of the design and the crowd was interesting.

What is the last record you listened to ?
ONEOHTRIX's last album on Warp. One of my favorite releases of the past year. It reminds me of what Dopplereffekt/arpanet was trying to do, but OhOneTrixPointNever has this digital finesse to it.

Is there any artist in particular that you would love to remix and why ?
No, I don't really aspire to do remixes ever. If anything I would focus on producing with some R&B singers or some really dope hiphop MC. One day I will come across someone amazing, hopefully soon.

What is your go to production tool in your studio ?
I have a big modular synth that sounds amazing. Sometimes I just patch it up and just listen to it changing for hours. Its not good for people who get distracted easily.

Can you tell us a little about your label Ultramajic and what is in store for 2014 ?
We are working on some artworks with acrylic and neon. This year we have releases from Kris Wadsworth, Sophie, Aden, JETS, and Danny Daze. Big tracks coming, very exciting. Ultramajic has my complete focus now.
